The person who has the car has the advantage. You can put any 911 engine in it, I promise the car will not know the difference. Engines are fun to talk about and look at but I would rather drive a chassis around than stare at an engine on the ground. The person with the engine of course would love to get the car but it would be a flip for bigger money most likely which is not wrong but it has little family emotional value. The best outcome for the greater good is for the engine owner to sell it back to the car owner, a premium will need to be paid but not a ransom. In the end the engine has only market value if the car can not be had. Good luck to all!
maybe another match maker go figure...
looks like a go possibly

Try what Magnus Walker did, swap the engine for a good running one and pay shipping both ways. I think in his case the matching numbers engine was a non-runner though?

It has been very hard to focus at work today! Everyone's input, advice and help is greatly appreciated. You guys rock! Dave (dporsche74) sent me his friend's email address. Thank you, Dave! I am more than willing to work out a fair deal. I hope we are both happy in the end. Please feel free to chime in with any more suggestions and advice. This is a new arena for me. I will keep you posted...
