Iconic landscape. I used to live in Tustin, and occasionally get back to Newport and Laguna for a visit. The last time we used Google maps for directions and it took us across on the Balboa ferry. Cool!

I've taken my 911 through much of Balboa Island and it is so fun. Actor John Wayne had a house on the Island, a couple blocks from that Ferry. Humphrey Bogart and Shirley Temple lived very close to that Ferry as well. I might head down there again this year.

The Shirley Temple house was scraped a few years ago. I actually spent the night there in 1983 on my senior prom night.

Mom and Dad were from LA before moving to Houston just before I was born. Every summer, we'd rent a Balboa house and spend a month there - did that for ten years. Now, every time I go to SoCal, I force the family back to the island for a chocolate covered banana and hit Woodys for dinner. Love that island; plan on renting a house there again one summer and bringing the 911 and my w123 wagon with me.

Eric's car is getting a lot of play lately...nice to see it making Newport look classy.

Don't know who Eric is… This is a car I used to own 13 years ago and recently bought back. Yellow lenses went on recently along with the RS front bumper and carbon fiber splitter.

Yellow headlights look great but be wary of the OC Police as they are illegal in CA.

Thanks for the heads up. I tend to drive it in the day. I keep a pair of clear headlight assemblies at the ready if I will be out at night. Pretty easy to change.
