Thread: rear bumper center panel seal

    rear bumper center panel seal

I know this item is a pain to install as the bumper guards must come off and there is a lot of adjustment work.

Does anyone know if the seal is glued in place?

    Thanks,

I don't think that it's meant to be glued in place but it certainly is a lot easier to put on if it is.

I installed it without using glue. Not my favorite job, so much adjusting to get the bumper guards to match up to the rear panel mounting holes. I have to say that the new seal does look nice though!

You did well, it doesn't have glue from the factory

What year car are you guys talking about, because on my '68, if we're talking about the same seal, it slides into a round slot and is held in place by that.

Thanks guys. I just bought a new one from SMC and it fit perfect and is a very nicely made seal. It cleaned the area right up.
