Newb questions - Airbox & Ducktail

    Greetings.
    1st post---newb questions:

    1) I have read that airbox pop-off valve is recommended for Pre-84 cars, but then only listed for CIS engine. Is the popoff not needed for MFI engines (e.g. 73 RS 911/83)?

    2) Are all original 73/74 ducktails steel/fiberglass/or combo---e.g. how/where to check for originality using magnet?

    [Didn't find #1 in a search]

    Thanks,
    Keith

Pop off valves are for CIS only...so 73.5 could use them but for some reason we didn't have as much problem with the 73.5s as the 74>. I would put one on though if I ever owned a CIS again.
The original duck tail frames are either steel or aluminum. That alone doesn't verify the originality because from 73 you could buy a duck tail made in California with a steel frame...
You have to look for other quirks.....
