Good to see someone else has OCD! I agree and know/knew deep down in a part of my brain that rebuilding a 69T wasn't going to make financial sense, at least in the short term, but after many different cars thought it was time to do one top to bottom. Sometimes it just looks greener on the other side in terms of time and money.......I'm not learning either got a 68 912 lhd and I find myself looking a t 7R's fibreglass guards and 2 litre engines......

Nothing wrong with rebuilding and restoring 69T's

And I've been under my 68 all day ripping out the original suspension... now that was hard work!

Good luck John. Am I right in saying if I put a 69 2 litre engine in my 912 it would be eligible for SB?

Nope, Sb rules require the whole car to match the chassis no., down to the induction. Eg 69T's run a 2 litre 6 cyl carb motor and the E's and S's run MFI.

A 912 would need to run its correct flat four (1.5mm overbore allowed) to get a Sb logbook.

    What Ryan said...

Don't hesitate to be the first to run a 912 in Sb though... From what I've read, a well sorted one is no slouch - and a fair bit cheaper to maintain I'd reckon

There is a trick 914/4 in the Sb works too - I'm trying to convince the builder to lop the front screen off...
