    Transmission infoHello

    Hello 911 people

Simple question I hope. What is the
difference between the 901 and 902 transmissions?

Very little except gear ratio sets. The 902 was originally for the 912, but in some cases was also used for the 911. Sometimes it depends on the serial range, but not always.

    Thank you for replying.

How can I find out more. Are the 902 ratios lower? I have a 68T with the 902 trans, which was seized in the late 70,s by U.S. Customs, which I purchased.

I suspect it was a rally car as it had a metal "skid plate" under the trans/engine, was jacked up high, and had a Recaro driver;s seat.

Please provide me with the type # and the serial # on the case; privately if you wish. I can then find what the original configuration was. There is no telling if the internals are still original. Also the VIN of the car, and the serial of the engine might help identify what the original configuration was. It might be an accumulation of parts, or it might be purpose built.
