Thread: What does a 73RS tire compressor look like?

  1. #1

What does a 73RS tire compressor look like?

I've come across and RS with a tire compressor in it that I assume is the correct original one? It's not the big white job that you see in SCs, it's a little thing in a blue case with the same type of clasp as the tool kit that says West Germany. I've never seen an RS with a tire compressor but assume they must have had them since they have collapsible spares.

    Thanks much.

I believe the blue case compressor was included in later cars, about MY76 from my research.

Webster tyre compressors replaced the air bottles for inflating the 'spacesaver' spare tyre in 2.7RS models from 10th Jan '73.

The compressor supplied was as shown in the link in post 2 above.

    Here's one I sold recently:

Interesting, the picture from post 2 is from RS #416. This cas was first sold the 11th March 1973, so this kind of compressor is correct.

The air bottle from the picture of post 4 is from RS #1498.
Was the bottle only for the lightweights after January 1973?

What is this one? It came in a blue folding case which went missing a while ago.
