The car has been biult using porsche factory parts (very hard to find OEM) and was built to S Spec. Webers rebuilt, Web Cam, Racing crank, I have over 20K in engine reciepts alone. The exhaust is a Dansk OEM style, Very loud. Next the trans everything was rebuilt to handle the new power, Horsepower around 250. Next we went inside the car. I really wanted to keep the car OEM and Dated. I went with GT Classic Seats with OEM style basket weave. The seats are Monte Carlos with 4 point Sparco Harnesses. The momo prototippo was replaced with a new prototippo wheel. The car had everything replcaed from door catches to Durrant Mirror. Every touch to detail has been taken care of. The ducktail spoiler is aftermarket, car will be sold with the OEM aluminum decklid. The Martini stripes were added to complete the vintage race look along with a Autopower roll bar painted to match the car. The stripes were done and can be removed (decals that are UV protected). The car has an S front bumper, Bilstein suspension, Dansk Exhaust and Heat Exchangers, RS door panels, Factory OEM no cracks or blemishes shift knob Found and bought for 1000.00 in the OEM box. Spared no expense. The true milage of the car is unknown, the car origionally had low miles, There is 3000K on the odometer, the car has only had 1500 miles on it since rebuild. I have only put 2000 miles on it since purchase. I bought a 997 twin turbo and this one needs to go. If it doesnt sell here it is going to be sold at Barrett Jackson in October (Vegas). If you have any questions let me know,m the car truely speaks for itself. The car is a winner of numerous Porsche Concourse Events including Best in Show. Notes: "1973 911 Porsche Coupe 3.2 with 46 IDA Webers.

Serial number- 9113102485 /Clear New Mexico Title.

Mileage on chassis at the time of purchase was approximately 108,000 miles and drove until 111,918 miles. Changed speedometer which now shows 1958 miles

    Body:

I purchased this rust free 1973 911T west Texas/New Mexico car in the early 1990's. On inspection the batteries had leaked and the front 1/3 of the suspension was replaced. No other areas of corrosion were found on the car. The engine, trans-axle, all glass, trim etc were removed and car was professionally resprayed in its original optional color Silver Metallic #936. All exterior and interior rubber seals were replaced. The car has NO modifications to the original factory bodywork (I.E. aftermarket fender flares etc. with the exception of a fiberglass front S spoiler). The car has a sunroof that opens and closes its full travel. All glass is factory tinted German with no cracks or chips. All exterior and interior lights (I.E. headlights, brake, turn signal, hazard, parking, underhood, backup, cabin, gauge etc) function correctly. Headlights are H4 and are 100% perfect. Windshield wipers function correctly. The chrome and and deco are very nice. No cracked lenses.

    Suspension/Brakes/Misc:

Engine oil cooling: Lemke/Turbotrol thermostatically controlled cooler in right front fender, ducted for fresh air through horn grill & battery box. When built in 1990's a new OEM master cylinder was installed as were turbo tie rods, front wheel bearings, 22mm F&R adjustable sway bars, adjustable spring plates, rear Koni shocks, front Koni adjustable strut inserts, ventilated F&R brake rotors, 21F & 27R torsion bars, stainless brake lines and a front adjustable strut bar. The factory alloy front S calipers were rebuilt. The fronts wheels and tires are 7x15 with 195/60 Goodyear Eagles. The rears are 7x15 with 205/60 Goodyear eagles. All tires have 80% + tread left.

    Engine/Trans Axle:

231 H.P. 1985 Euro Carrera engine type# 930/20 serial # 63F04175. I purchased this engine in the early 1990's with approximately 43,000 miles from a car that suffered a front& cabin fire. The engine did not run at the time due to burned wiring. The engine was completely disassembled, all parts were checked for correct factory tolerances. All parts and components were well within factory specifications. The engine was reassembled with new OEM main and rod bearings, ARP rod bolts and nuts, OEM piston rings, valve guide and valve job. The engine was built to factory specifications with the exception of the fuel system which was replaced by a set of new/not rebuilt 46-IDA Weber carburetors and matching manifolds. The vacuum advance distributer was custom recurved and changed to a mechanical advance distributer to allow the use of 91% octane gas. Ignition system is a MSD 6AL with piggy back MSD r.p.m. activated interchangeable r.p.m. chip rev limiter. Exhaust system is comprissed of headers and Super Trapp mufflers.

The transaxle is a Euro-Carrera 915/69 with factory oil cooler and limited slip differential. The transaxle was partially disassembled and checked prior to installation. Also a new OEM clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and short shifter were installed.

Both Engine and transaxle have approximately 6,000 miles on them.

    Interior:

Complete factory air conditioning with upgraded compressor. All the gauges function correctly even the clock! The only exception is the oil tank level gauge which seems to have a mind of its own, sometime it works sometimes not. The carpet, seats, head-liner have no rips or tears. Front seats are Recaro Design Sports with Recaro sliders. The interior also features Schroth seatbelts, Fittipaldi steering wheel with functioning horn, Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette player (yes I know but remember I built this car in the early 1990's), removable bolt in Auto Power roll bar with under chassis backing plate and a dash cap. I can not remember the condition of the original dash underneath.

    Overall:

This Porsche was built by me in the early 1990's. It has only been driven approximately 6,000 miles since. All were street driven miles with the exception of no more than 6 PCA Driver Education Events. It is in overall very good/excellent condition considering the car was built 16 years ago. The car is not perfect and if I were to continue ownership I would do the following: Although the 46 Webers function ok as is I would consider a tune up to clean air & fuel passage, set floats etc. Since they are only 6,000 miles old all shafts etc. are like new. The sun roof although functions needs minor adjustments as well as restretching & reglueing of the head liner material on rear of panel. The rear license plate panel at very bottom needs slight straightening and repaint. This can not be seen unless you bend down and look. While stored someone dented the top of the drivers door. The dent is approximately 1"x2". The paint is not cracked and I honestly believe a good Body Repair man could easily repair it without paint touch-up. On the same door at the very bottom front there are 2 small bubbles in the paint they approximately 1/8" in diameter. I believe this is from repeated washing and not drying completely before parking. Also the drivers side rear top pillar has a bad paint repair. There was a small paint bubble that resulted from a clogged sun roof drain midway up the pillar. After I cleaned the debris/clog I took it to a local paint man who repaired area metal and repainted. He did a poor job and I have just lived with it. The front rubber Deco insert has shrunk 3". It has one or two oil leaks that do not affect function but are annoying.

Prior to this listing all the fluids and filters were changed. This includes the oil, transaxle, fuel and brake fluid. New spark plugs were installed. This is a very nice stock appearing long hood Porsche with performance enhancements matched to one another and not a hodge-podge of parts as so often seen."

Notes: "PORSCHE 911 VINTAGE SPORT COUPE: I built this 911 for myself. I built it with the vision of what I imagined a righteous street car would be if I could take what I liked best from the mid '60s and early '70s - fast revving motor, lowered suspension with cool wheels, and sport purpose items such as race seats and small diameter steering wheel. If you are looking for a numbers matching car, this isn't it. If you want a basically like new and one of a kind short wheel base Porsche, here is what I have...

When I bought this car from a buddy who had purchased it from Gary Wiggleworth's estate it had many, many restored and rebuilt bits and pieces from a very early 1965 911 blended into it's 1968 chassis. As a matter of fact, it's 901/0 transmission had such an early serial number that it went to the Netherlands and was installed into a 1964 911 to replace it's original trani that had been stolen years ago. I like the novelty of the early serial numbers stamped into the passenger doors and rear engine lid, so I left them alone and moved on.

CHASSIS and BODY: The '68 chassis is rust free. That's why I purchased this particular car. It has been completely disassembled, stripped, and blasted. The front suspension pan and passenger floors are new. This 911 had dealer installed A/C with the condensor and evaporator lines running through the inside of the car - front to back. The line's entrance and exit openings made by the dealer during A/C installation have been professionally welded closed. I chose to not undercoat the car, but instead have coated the underside with POR 15 rust preventative. It's black color and sheen do a good job of emulating a factory look (except for it's texture) and do not hide the perfect condition of the car's floors. The absence of undercoating also saves some weight. The front trunk is as sanitary as you will every see. I made sure to weld the original washer bottle, washer pump, and battery tray supports back in and installed a Optima dry cell battery. I left the Webasto heater in the smugglers box. I don't know if it works, and wouldn't use it if it did. All suspension components have been blasted and refinished. New bolts and bushings have been used throughout along with Koni Classics. The ride height is a low race height and the car sits on 15x7 vintage look wheels wearing 195/60/15 speed rated tires that have been balanced and aligned with no wheel opening rub issues. Completely new brake system with S front brakes. The body was painted Light Ivory with single stage paint, NOT base coat/clear coat. The condition of the paint and bodywork is an easy 9.5 and close to a 10. There are no dings, dents, or scratches. Every exterior chrome piece has been cleaned and polished, or replaced with new. New gaskets and emblems. I even installed a new orange bar hood crest. Not installing exterior rocker trim shows off this car's perfect rocker-to-door gaps and helps the black 'Porsche' side script stand out. All panel fit and gaps are excellent. The green tinted glass is in excellent condition and original to the car along with the windshield, which does have a few very small pits the size of a pin head (not spidering stone chips). Note that the wipers park to the right, just like a '65, and work perfectly along with the windshield washers. All turn signals, rear license plate lights, and flashers work. The H4 headlights are brand new.

MOTOR AND RUNNING GEAR: The early '65 engine that was in the car was passed on to a friend and I installed a different engine built on an early 2.0 magnesium 911S case. This engine had just over 10K miles on it when I pulled it form one of my 914-6's. It has been built with 2.2 S ported and polished heads, new Mahle 2.2 S pistons, race cams, tall PMO intakes, 40 IDa Webers, light weight flywheel, and new heavy duty Sachs clutch and pressure plate. The motor was partially disassembled, cleaned, detailed, tuned and freshened with new gaskets and seals before being put into the 911. The heat exchangers and a sport muffler are stainless steel - I do have the heater hoses hooked up and working to provide passenger cabin heat. The transmission is from a '71 911S and it has been modified to work well in this car and with this motor. It shifts smoothly and without fault (as long as you remember the dog leg 1st gear). This engine revs like a race motor, but runs on pump gas. An indicated 100 mph can be had in 3rd gear, and quickly.

INTERIOR: The interior has been completely redone. New German grey perlon carpets, new white headliner, new 901 type shift knob and boot, new parking brake boot, new pedal covers, new threshold sill plates, 1968 911S tachometer w/ a 7,200 redline, thick rimmed 380mm steering wheel from a 914 w/ a early hockey puck center button (like a 914-6 GT) and activates sound fare horns. The restored 3 point vintage seat belts are dated coded '64 and I chose to install RS America door panels w/ red latch pulls to match their color. The dash is without cracks or warping. The Scheel sport seats are special and unique. They came from a late BMW 3.0 CSL (a.k.a. 'Batmobile') and are newly recovered in black leather. I chose these seats as they are wider in the butt and hips and more comfortable than anything I've had in a 911. The driver's side is height/angle adjustable, very rare. I mounted them on NOS Recaro vintage tilt brackets so you can tip the seats forward to provide easy access to the rear seats. There is no radio installed as I don't listen to anything but the motor music while driving. Overall the this interior is early 911 minimalistic, but very comfortable with a high level of quality materials, workmanship, and rare items. Only thing I have left to do in here is to install a door light switch on the passenger side. That should be done by the end of the auction."
