First win in UK for a Carrera RS was at Croft in North Yorkshire in the spring of 73 (track is on former WW2 bomber base like many other circuits in UK)

Here is the original programme entry for April 20th 1973 racing at Snetterton (another former WW2 bomber base track just down the road from Lotus HQ and test track Hethel) . It shows race results hand written.

In 1973 STP ran a production sports category in the UK. Cars in that championship were standard road other than safety equipment --roll cage, cutoff switches and tweaks to tyre pressures. Nick Faure ran the Porsche Cars Great Britain press demo car initially -- a first 500 RHD Carrera RS M472 complete with the radio etc but homologstion chassis. It was the car was featured in road-tests having been delivered January of 73. He won the championship. The first RHD M471 arrived in UK a while later and it was used in later rounds. Nick explained this in Starkey book excerpt:

Above programme cover shot is from another race in series showing Carrera RS

Below picture of Nick Faure in action in an earlier round of the same championship in the M472 touring -- maybe Croft-- as evidence of the full touring spec the heavy electric aerial still visible in the wing ( fender) along With S bumper and side trim.

The "Special" Starkey referred to in action although it has been modified since then and is still being modified today.
