The PCA has a large contingent of members who are focused on the early cars and Panorama frequently surprises me with well-researched pieces on Porsche history. You should join.
JP is correct. While PCA at the top tends to be focused on growth and promoting sales of more new Porsches to new potential PCA members, and there is a perception that PCA has put the air-cooled cars behind them, there are still plenty of members (like myself) who also don't have any real interest in modern Porsches. There is even (now) a Special Interest Group (aka 'Register") for early 911's. Membership in that group is small, but growing. The leaders of that group have no thoughts of trying to compete with ESR, but is looking to offer PCA members who own early cars another possible support group. http://early911.pca.org/index.php

As Live said the PCA does have a very focused group of early car enthusiasts. I let my 000 subscription go because as good as it is only a few articles were interesting to me. The Pano has very well researched articles on early cars with photography just as good. 000 does it on nicer paper with no ads but information is information. This has been a particularly good year with anniversary pieces on the 917, mechanical fuel injection and many other interesting things. And I'm done collecting magazines. Well maybe the Esses.

Steve -,regarding 000, after being very excited and evening buying their deluxe versions to get the first year sold out copies, I’m getting disappointed by the lack of vintage cars in it.

Back to the pre amended California privacy law : I found it very useful as two years ago I had to sue to keep my tax returns private from a law suit between other parties that didn’t involve me but implicated my returns inirectly. (Um, no, I’m not Donald Trump!). Four sets of lawyers were involved on the other sides, yet I ultimately prevailed. Judge wouldn’t even allow in camera review or redacted as that still breaks my right to privacy. That took a lot of work as I spent many hours researching and writing briefs but the law was clearly on my side . Protecting your privacy is important.

I’ve ordered the Reuter’s build books for several of my cars. It’s quite interesting and supplements the Kardex.

Just took advantage of the CA privacy law and won’t let my sudoku app sell my data! Feels so good!

Can you give more info on that process? And maybe an example of what info they contain? Thanks!

I agree. I hope it goes nationwide. Selling our data for commercial purposes isn’t acceptable.
