From the U.K. sole importer. Embracing the philosophy: 'Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.'

Harold Morley in a CCC event started in Poole on south coast of England then 13 mixed stages including forest tracks and an airfield around area of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.
He is driving one of the RHD 2.7 RS to victory again after a win in Lincolnshire in that triple C Championship of 1973. The Lincolnshire event was the first English rally win in 2.7 Carrera RS:
Not a great quality image but this unusual angle gives glimpse through the rear window of the British made Aley bars roll cage and a Britax harness. Single round driver’s side mirror characteristic of EG C16 British market cars in 73. Sticker GB - Great Britain and at this point still has English licence plate.
Only a few changes to stock required to go rallying. I have a list of the changes done to prepare the car. While the RS was more expensive than the escorts the fact it could be competitive stock vs. expensive modifications of some other marques. A factor that drew some to RS — particularly popular choice for Irish and Manx events. The car went to Ireland.
Meanwhile by way of proof of versatility of the 2.7 RS Nick Faure won very convincingly the British production sports car championship of 1973 in U.K. using a stock 2.7; circuit work requiring even less motorsport preparation than rally. The Croft event was the first (English) circuit win by a 2.7 Carrera RS:
At first in a 500- series M472 complete with Radiomobile stereo eight-track radio, electric antenna, electric windows. This was at Croft near Darlington … interior of MYX4L:
and then later that season an M471 took over duties also with Faure getting it sideways in the wet giving another photo of an RS rear during competition:

73 Finland 1000 lakes Leo Kinnunen in third placed Porsche Carrera RS in some snippets:

One jump taken so hard by a competitor it broke the co-drivers back on landing so had consequences for the result.

Just loving this thread.... Thank you very much to those who post, it is appreciated.
The famous RAC “blue book” , 73 yearbook and the programme for the 73 running RAC rally. I have a competitor badge and bar for 73 event somewhere
A PO of my early Porsche was in the 73 RAC event but he competed that year in an Escort. We are in touch.
When it comes to hand I’ll post the badge and bar Referred to here
The RAC is not only a private members club they were the sole National governing body of motorsports — the FiA ASN for Great Britain. This is a grill badge for motorsports member:
