    painting underbody of 70 car

just to make sure, was underbody and engine compartment paint same as body? did it get the same high sheen or was it kind of fogged in? was there a difference in color as rockers transition to belly? any pictures w/b much appreciated. thanks again, gary

was underbody and engine compartment paint

Both flat black on top of body color, also in wheel wells.

    Hi,

John is correct, but just incase like me you choose to go body colour all over, here is a pic of a RHD 70S we are restoring, full body respray in body colour.

    Thanks

Alan; nice work! whats with the brand new looking wiring? Did you rewrap the original in new black tape? Is the yellow cad torsion plates/covers correct, I thought those came in 72/73?(dont missunderstand I like them, and will have the same on my 71S)

Based on the black paint on the underside of my 71, and what I recall reading in some PCA piece, the correct black would be a satin finish, not a flat finish. The satin finish is what you see on the suspension bits.

Tom; I just looked at the pictures of the 700 mile 2.2 S, and I agree its more of a satin black.
