    '68 sport seat base

I bought a '68 sport seat and I don't have a base, and after depleting my spare $ on the seat, I need to build a temporary fixed base. I think I will use aluminum to build it. I need some info though from you guys with real sport seat bases:

    1. What is the layback angle of the seat risers
    2. What are the specs for cutting notches in one of the bottom rails, I don't have originals and need to cut the notches

    Thanks for any info.

You might consider trying some Recaro rails that are made for aftermarket items like the Vintage Seats. (www.vintageseats.com).
They supply a flat mount that will bolt to your cars seat base mounts on the pan. As for sliders they have those too. I suspect with a little work they can be made to fit as well. The adjuster will be a U shaped bar that will extend forward of the seat.
I'll try to find some photos in the morning.

    Good luck!
