Hot, dry day . . . felt more like Phoenix than SoCal
It's been in a few years, but the same venue that I remember. Older public-type park, big old trees --- pines + eucalyptus . . . parking on the street . . . not enough. And hot. No wind, though
1st up? A carosaur . . . looks like an automobilodon . . . dug-up in gravel quarry. Then put back. (Or they tried . . . more than once) Yikes. I like projects as much as the next guy --- well . . . at least, the idea of a project . . . but this? Looks like something Tim Burton built to scare big people with. Love that tunnel fab, plywood rear bulkhead . . . and what's going on w/ that popcorn stuff on the interior? Can you say mesothelioma?
Cough
And is bondo Italian?

Why I go to swap meets
Need a set of brand-new 40-year-old tires? W/ the nasty stickers?
Here ya go
So old . . . they don't even have date codes
Oh yeah . . . don't forget the inner tubes
Lancia Flamina
Black 'B' plate goes back to '63. Looks un-hit
This one looked really really doable . . . as far as a project goes. Everything looked to be there --- especially all the impossible-to-get/expensive-to-straighten trim-bits . . . check-out the stainless around all the greenhouse glass, belt-line
Good-but-not-spectacular-looking means all the heart/soul/cash needed to restore this thing prolly won't come back in this millenium, but, still . . . it's all here
Even the correct NOS Michelins . . . right next door
Wish I'd taken more pictures
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Profe...ht_2252wt_1167Xavier, it's an early Siata - I love them.

Here's some more shots o' the yellow Siata at The Show
Tag says . . .
Make: SIATA DAWA
Model: 1400 Gran Sport . . . year: 1951
Comments: Earliest Gran Sport
I missed the hood being up, but --- judging by the 1400 designation . . . I'm gonna guess that this one prolly doesn't have the FIAT V8. Lovely little touches . . . check-out the gas-fill, rear brake-light (?), bumperlettes, trunk door. Side-trim's 'off' . . . . juuuuust a bit . . . what I'd expect for a hand-built
Car's tiny. Wide-whites + two-tone paint disguise the proportions. Pinin Farina badge? Reminds me a lot of a 166 Barchetta
More Siata Gran Sport . . .
Partially-framed 2-pc 'split-screens' are totally pre-War . . . but look just right, here. Chrome wiper arms look like they came out of someone's dinner service
