72 914-6s were not officially sold in the US. many seem to have received 2.4 motors.

This is something that I don't believe for a second. Porsche deliberately used only the 2.0 6 cylinder 911T motors on the 914/6 between 70/71 in order for the 914/6 not to be directly competitive with the 70-71 911T models fitted with the 2,2 motors at the time. If the 914/6 were built in 1972, it would only have been fitted with a 2,2T motor, not a 2,4.

I beg to disagree on the RS wheel
I have owned 2, both very original, one still had the plastic horn butterfly intact, both had 914 347 806 10 wheels as per the factory 73 parts manuals NOT 805 10 a stated
