    Flieger, the work in progress on our next 914 project is a 5.0 L Porsche Cayenne V8 biturbo club racer. The entire build thread is over on the Renn, titled "914-8 gtt the build begins", in the 914 914-6 section, by Mattylite. The engine is being assembled by Lozano Bros. Porting, whom also built similar engines to win the 2010 Daytona 24 Hr., in the Action Express car. Target is 1,100 hp, in an all Porsche club racer. Detail of the dry sump oil pan and pump, engine is sitting upside down.

    Sounds fun, but V8's just aren't my thing. I simply love the song of a flat 6, especially an air-cooled one. I value that more than speed.

    Better. I love the whirr of the gear drive to the fan. Sounds like a 917 in the paddock.
