Seller's Description:
Early 911's are rare finds today among collector cars. They have unparalleled drivability and usability, especially when compared with other cars of the same vintage. There is a certain wholeness and agility that is only evident when they are driven and it is no surprise that they have a fanatical following. Until quite recently, however, they were just used cars, which made finding genuinely solid examples that have been continuously cared for throughout the car's life very difficult. All early 911's have appreciated tremendously in recent years, with good solid cars seeing especially significant increases in value. The 2.2 litre 911S is a very special car which appeals particularly to the most serious of Porsche enthusiasts.
This car was subject to a complete restoration, down to the bare metal. Every nut and bolt was removed and either cleaned or plated. The body work and paint was done by Julio Russo. Dan Jacobs rebuilt the engine and Gary Fairbanks rebuilt the transmission. The interior was redone right down to the period correct hounds tooth front seat inserts. The alloy wheels are the very rare “deep six with hearts”. A Nardi wood rim steering wheel has been added. The exhaust has been upgraded from 1” to 2”, along with the chain tensioners, SSI heat exchangers and turbo tie-rods.
This matching numbers car has a Certificate of Origin and is painted in its original Light Ivory white with a Black interior. The car has been entered into the 911S Registry.
This 1970 911S Porsche is one of the finest that we have ever seen. The car has been driven approximately 2000 miles since this total rebuild which occured over a period of time around 2004. The engine received an overhaul, including cylinder heads, crankshaft and rods. At the same time the transmission was totally rebuilt. The suspension was updated and the car fitted with new tires, an oil cooler and a new battery.
The body shell was dry stripped, all metalwork prepped and the car was refinished in its original white color. At the same time the wheels were straightened and refinished. As for the interior, the instrument cluster was tested and overhauled. New houndstooth seats were fitted, along with new carpeting, interior wiring and new interior panels. All this work was completed by marquee specialists and the fully documented cost of this extensive rebuild exceeded $100K.
Here is a magnificent example of this iconic sports car which in as new condition and ready to offer the new owner many miles of spirited driving or even some competition, if required. The car is ready for inspection and driving.

It may have period correct hounds tooth inserts, but it is not the correct hounds tooth material.
