I agree, Bob. Does he have a name?

He does not want to deal with the logistics of receiving and shipping so I will have to be the "go to" person to get our restorations done as long as we have him. He does a lot of field work for restorations of luxury/high end cars like Lexus, MBZ, BMW... for dealers that needs such service but he prefers to work with these type of material we have on the Porsches or similar. If we can keep him busy enough to stay put and do work for us while we have his time. Turnaround time- 2 weeks from time of receiving the items. Photos of the dashboards I challenged him to work on it....he did not disappoint.

How about close-ups of that dash?

    Thanks.

    Bob,
Correct me if I am wrong but these looks like a 65-68 one piece knee pad that was cut in 2 pieces. I doubt if he can reshape a foam piece to replicate a 69-73. Even if he could ...it will cost significantly.

    Hi Frank,
This particular dash was a POS to begin with, that most of us considered it to be useless but he gladly accepted to challenge himself if it can be done. It actually looks better in person that the photo shows and a better alternative to a vinyl or leather wrap for the same price.

Here is mine he did on my '72 with the typical cracks on the vent area and the right of the gauge pod. The speaker grill has been restored too. This was the very first dash pad he worked on.

I have a local guy who also does interior restoration work for dealers. I gave him a dash which came out much like yours. The problem I have is that it lost much (most?) of the vinyl grain. Perhaps compare original grain with yours?

    Thanks

It will definitely loose some of the grain and will never look like NOS if you really look closely but it is good enough from a foot away.
