    Any more Sportologists out there?

    Think I've read that these take a bit more maintenance/upkeep to use/live with. And parts are a challenge



    Anyone w/ experience to share?

    Expensive?

    I have a few different Porsche rides and wanted to try one of the Sportos after all the press they got, good and bad. I love mine and really enjoy driving it! Working on it and parts have been pretty easy too, so no complaints from that side either. I would buy another and do not shy away from them when looking at new toys, I am keeping mine!

    Back to the OP question - these do appear to have a more narrow market than conventional gearbox cars. Maybe buy it if you like the driving experience as opposed to basing a decision on collectibility.

    About 15 years ago I drove a sportomatic and I mean this sincerely, I hated it. The experience felt like I was missing a leg. I couldn't get over the missing left leg operation, I felt like I was going to ruin something each time I switched gears. The gearshift wobbled wildly and it was like something I didn't want to touch.

    Perhaps it's the right choice for some but I would pass on a sportomatic because I enjoy the concert of shifting.

    i just found a 72T sporto that has been stashed away for over 30 years.
    Looking forward to geting it running again but it is in such nice condition that i might sell it as it is too perfect for me to get dirty!
