A few months ago I was bidding on this beautiful NOS Vasek Polak frame, and was outbid at $359 (versus my $354)

Subsequently, I picked up this item on Ebay

I ended up buying this frame on Ebay instead (as I subsequently learned my car spent the first 42 years of its life in San Fran and not LA )

How can one find out where his car originally was sold from? I believe my 72T spent its early years in Seattle, but I'm not sure; I would love to know that and try to find a plate frame from that dealer.

    Hey, Serge . . .

If you think that your vehicle came from WA, then I'd try just hitting their DMV's web-site and seeing if there's a document/process/whatever for requesting a registration or title history. Every state keeps these kinds of records --- it's just a matter of figuring-out how to find/access them

Another source would be the Previous Owners. Those Stories can be interesting by themselves

I'm starting to think that maybe frames w/ this Porsche + AUDI format are later versions. Conine-Swab is the 1st dealer that I've come across that has the Porsche + AUDI names both 'stacked + boxed' and not
Late 1971/72 the stacked P&A logo (usually blue Letters on white) appears in US market Porsche Literature.
Later also to be seen on the 1972/73 CAN-AM 917/10 L&M.

    More Berkey-Lee . . .

    Some other variations . . .

IMO, these look like 'older' versions --- mainly for the style of 'VW' logo . . . especially the top one, with those 'grooved' verticals
