    Thanks Peter.
Gulf Blue is my dream color, particularly for a ‘72S. Only rarely do you see a car that needs more work than this. Non original engine troublesome for me, but I could ditch that hang-up and just build a really nice engine. Accumulating the part would be a huge task itself. I have most of the skills and equipment, but I’m sure I’m the slowest restoration hobbiest that’s ever posted…but Gulf Blue

I’m having trouble resetting my password on the site wher the car is listed. Can someone tell me the location?

    Thanks,
    Bill

I can't say for certain, but that sure looks like a VW Type-IV engine with some kind of 2-barrel carb setup. Definitely not the optimal "performance" setup. I wonder if the tranny is original, because if so, I don't think that's a simple bolt-up. Either way, the least of this car's problems and many more costly fixes await the buyer.

    1969 Porsche 911S
It's a major project in rough condition.
But as you know, all early 911S cars are worth restoring
    Here are the details....
    -Clean title
    -Kardex report
-the VIN number is clearly stamped under the hood and also on the A pillar tag and also the factory partial stamp on dash
    -Original color is silver metallic
-It has the original transmission, gauges, seats, glass. No signs of a major wreck, original doors, no sign of welding
-It's missing the original 911S engine. It has a Porsche 914/VW type 4 engine
-It was updated to the new body style many years ago with fiberglass fenders and a steel hood. The original rear fenders were cut and replaced with flared fiberglass fenders and front fenders, hood, and bumper replaced.
-It has a lot of rust. Front is really rusty. Back area around the torsions looks ok.

This car is buildable. All metal panels can be bought or fabricated.
This car is stored in Louisiana. The Houston port is 250 miles away. East coast ports such as Savannah or Charleston are 800 plus miles away.
