    1965-1967 911 Maroon #30717 and #30736

I'm looking for samples of two 911 Maroon colors from the mid 1960's. The Porsche color numbers are #30717 and #30736.

Does anybody know this car? It was at the German AutoFest a few years ago. If the owner of the pictured car or a friend of the owner could verify it's color, that would be a start. Can't see the rear wheel arches so I don't know if it is a 1966 of 1967 (narrow door handles) or it could be color #6808 which was the 1968 Burgandy.

The color numbers #30717 and 30736 are from a very early 911 (901) and a 1967 model year 911. Don't know how close or far away the colors are. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Can't help with the color but that car looks like a hybrid. Appears to have early headlights, '69 or later window frame (fixed vent window) and later seats/headrests. Early wipers, parked on the right.

    Rescue,
Good eyes. Right on all counts. Is that color considered marron? I would call it a darker wine red.
Anyone have any nice pic's of Aubergine. Now that is a beautiful early Porsche color. Almost got my hands on a 73 911E sunroof coupe a few years ago in San Francisco. Missed it by 2 days. Car was owned by a player for the Vikings (I think his name was Ed Marinero). Story I was told is that he bought it while vacationing in Europe in 72'. Chose the color because it was close to the Vikings purple. Brought it to the States and drove it to training camp. Vikings ownership made him sell it because it was Unamerican. He ended up getting rid of it promptly. Anyone know the guy who has it? The woman in SF said that the person who bought it moved to Texas. He paid her and said he would be back to get the car. He didn't come back for it for a few months. Every few weeks I called her to ask if she would send his money back and sell the car to me. She said she would give him one more. Just my luck , he finally picked it up.

    Dark Red color?

I know that car -asked the owner "Is that Burgundy? He said that is was a color he picked from another car maker. I think he said it was Maserati. It looks very close to Burgundy only a lighter shade. Chris R-Gruppe#144

Thank you Chris. I knew someone would recognize that car.

Would you guys look for any examples of Maroon cars (1965-1967) at this weekend activities the Lit/car show/swap. I want to call it Dunkel's but it has a new name and location. A photo or a owner name would be good.

    Thanks. Bob
