Thread: The good old days

Those aren’t flip flops. Those are Birkenstock’s! Look at the buckle. When I was in high school in the late 80’s in Orange County, I worked for ABT Motorsport. One of the mechanics wore them. I worked for a German cabinetmaker in Laguna Beach shortly after and closed toe Birkenstock’s were a Cal OSHA approved work shoe at the time! I wore them for years. One of the best machinists and master mold makers I know wears Birkenstock’s everyday even now, He’s over 90 years old and still working and driving his 911sc he bought new.

Is the 000 magazine worth subscribing too? I don’t need the newer Porsche articles.

that has an easy answer - YES

you don't need to subscribe to the limited edition S (numbered) version
the "ordinary" version is like getting 4 specialized books on Porsche subjects a year for $250 (for US residents - a LOT more for me in Australia)
I also mainly like the early material but find that there is enough there in each edition.

have a look at the website https://www.000magazine.com/ and the back issues in the store (click on each of them to see a contents list) to gauge what the mix is BUT the most important thing is regardless of the subject the detail in the articles is amazing

Absolutely a resounding "YES" - 000 is the most awesome Porsche publication I have ever experienced. The care and dedication of the people involved to 'getting it right' is astounding. As HughH notes, the ordinary version has the same content and is well worth the price of entry.
