    Impact of transmission?

I must say that - and you may think what you want- the transmission not being matching might make a 15 -20 k$ difference?

I really like the look of this car. If the next caretaker takes it back to stock, please sell me the decklid!!

I wonder what the owner was hoping to sell the car for. I'm glad to see that Henk documented the extreme extent of rust, but now anything less than a complete restoration is clearly doing this car an injustice. Future buyers will want to see pictures of this car extensively disassembled and on a bench being rebuilt. Tough spot to be in, take what's being offered now or dive into a restoration and potentially net the same amount two years later and after a major outlay of cash.
It's a very cool car and I agree with your points....but given the rust repairs a full restoration would be north of $100K....probably closer to $150K. IMO, that's why it hasn't sold.....I think a lot of folks loss interest once they add up the total costs along the two year waiting time to have the car restored.

....WTS, I do hope someone does restore it.....the car deserves it.

What would the sport seats and extra wheels sell for?

I would think it would sell for much more. (Still not convinced ebay bidders are a fair representation of the retail market.)

Someone looking for seats and wheels to buy is not going to like this...

I think gourmet non-headrest sport seats and 4 1/2's could be worth 30k.

I was thinking that a buyer who can't afford the big money prices could buy this car, dump the seats and extra wheels and have a starting point for a driver and a real 67S with correct engine. It would never be the cover car in Esses but most cars never are.

Frank I think you might be bang on with this point, I purchased a set of 4.5" wheels and a set of original sports seats which need some work around two yrs ago, back then I paid ~$10k, for the lot
