The really fun part of all this is that there is really no solid definition as to what's original. The Corvette people (Bloomington Gold) actually trademarked the term "Survivor" so no other marque can use that term now. They have 3 levels of Surviviors.
Ferrari folks have a deduction system based on the amount of restoration that has taken place. Ferrari judges "are told to “make allowances for the deterioration and inoperability of some components.”
PCA is the loosest marque of all. Ron Gordon, who chaired the 2015 Porsche Club of America competition, advises judges that as long as a reproduction part is close to the original part it’s acceptable and no demerits should be taken.
