FS: 1972 911S Race car for sale IMSA and CASC history 2.8 Motor 915 gearbox.

1972 911S Race car for sale. Ownership in hand. Vin plate and production number present. Car is sold with deposit
9112300314 started life in Europe(from what I can gather) and was imported into North America sometime in the early to mid 80's. The car was
already race prepped when it entered Canada. Sometime after importation the car was seen by driver/film maker John Stoneman as it sat in a garage looking like a
tired race car. He purchased the car and with sponsorship from Kodak began prepping the car for an upcoming IMSA GTU season. Work was extensive as I have
a large file folder of invoices from the likes Fiorano Racing which now is well known for their GT3 Cup cars they campaign. The motor was replaced with a 2.7 built to 2.8
unit for the upcoming season. Suspension is a coilover set up that I have yet to identify. Brakes are 928s rears and up front Wilwood superlites. I will get back to modifications later.
At some point John lost his FIA or whatever the governing body was licence due to health issues.
This left the car in limbo for years. In 1994 the car was sold to his friend Jim Lee and used very sparingly as a track car until 1998. Health issues kept Jim from
really using the car. I confirmed this as the engine hours read 15 since the motor was refreshed when John took delivery in 94.

Now onto the motor. The motor is built to a 2.8 and compression is 12.1 mated to a 915 gearbox. The list of work is extensive sorry for the lack of details. Everything is on hand written sales orders
so it is a bit difficult to decode. Webber 40's.

Chassis work was extensive with the front towers being modified for increased suspension geometry.
Fuel safe tank, MSD ignition, Front mount large oil cooler. Chassis is solid with minor surface rust in some of the areas where
the under coating was removed. Cage is welded in and with mounts in trunk and engine bay.

The cars body work has changed from long nose to a box flared IMSA fiber glass monster. When Jim took the wheel he converted it to a RSR style and that is where it sits today. Electrical and cosmetically it needs attention. Here are the details on this 72s The trunk vin is covered by the cage but the vin aluminium tag is present as well as the production date matches.

Here are some pictures from the early 90's I will post up a picture of it's IMSA body work soon as well as it's current state.
