    New gas tank support

    Hello All,

We at Restoration Design need some input from all you guys. We have another gas tank support that we just finished making, but we are not totally sure of the year/years they were used.

We pulled the original from a 1968 912 that we had in our yard. It is very similar to the 65-73 model that we have produced.

The difference is the impression on the left side

This is the new one that we reproduced from the 1968

This is the one we have already been producing and is labelled as a 1965-68

Just took a peek at my '67 911 (built Nov '66) with the original suspension pan... left side impression matches the new pan you just produced from the 1968 (upper pic).

What's the purpose of that impression on the left?
A runoff channel for battery acid?

    If so, mine didn't work.

Against all odds, here in the rust belt 304389 is OK. Life is good.

please keep the pictures coming. we have had 1966 and 1967 cars with the shorter depression. different depressions for different builders? Karman versus Reuter? different depressions for different cars? 911 versus 912 ?

    Hey Mike,
You need to post it when welded into a car and then list it in the F/S section. Then you will get "feedback"

I for one am thrilled with the RD panels that Rob Gross put in my car. If they pass his scrutiny....

Sorry I can't make the May 10th event. Will be in Milan.

    Ravi

PS. Can't be for battery drainage. The panel I have from you include the dimpled circle. That would be an acid collector, no ?

Love what you're doing Mike...thank you.

Any plans for the outer area under the battery boxes...that general area?

    Thanks!

for the front inner fenders, the front part and the lower part, the dies are in the machining process as wee speak. This is an area which we know many of you need and we will have those parts in the very near future. We are really behind our in schedule right now because of some breakdowns but we have put in place a few things so hopefully we can gain back some time.

we have some new panels made and beore we sell them we need to correctly identify which cars they came in. there seems to be some confusion right now as to which cars they really came in.
