WTB: Hood badge for 1972 911

Took my 1972 911 to Laguna Seca today and left the car in the PCA car corral. At some point during the day, my original and nicely patina'd hood badge 'disappeared', leaving only the remainder of the rods and a few finger marks in the dirt that was underneath it.

I'm now looking for a reasonably priced replacement for cash or trade with a 3 bar early engine lid grille?

Noooooo... who'd do such a sacrilegious thing? And in the PCA corral too... man, that sucks...

Still looking for one.... I bought a new 901.xx orange badge from Porsche classic, but it is far too shiny for my car. I prefer the old dull patina'd look

wow... the sheer audacity. sorry man.

-not that I'm a tough-guy, but I'd be driving home with a few extra fingers in my glovebox if I ever happened upon someone effing with my car.... and my car isn't even all that nice.

    Making Noise

    1) Find the PCA Region that's nearest the venue

    2) Contact whatever publication that serves that Region

    3) Ask them to publish a full-page of the picture + your description of what happened

With any luck? . . . somebody may've bragged about their latest 'find'

You may never get your badge back . . . . but it'll burn on whoever's car it landed on

    Don't

    Go

    Quietly

Should be easy to spot; it's the one with the curled up corners and broken porcelain.

I'm sure I've got an extra if you want it. But I'm also sure it needs work.

    Carpet Bombing

The venue is in PCA Zone 7 --- but there are 10 Regions

Paul Czopek is the Zone contact. Maybe he can narrow it down some?

Then, again . . . you could ask all 10 to publish it

I have one, but it does need work. I just remembered your PM, sorry been so busy at work its crazy... I can't even remember to try to sell things! Not sure how to restore it, but I'm sure others do.

Are you sure it was there when you got there? I had mine fly off on the freeway once, only knew it happened because it hit the windshield and left a chip. Didn't realize what it was until I stopped and saw the 2 pins left in the hood.
