    Stuck engine cover

The engine cover on my 70 S is stuck and no matter how much I push and pull on the cover it refuses to pop. The cable pulls out about 1" then hits a stop. Any thoughts as to how I can get it to open?

Just went through this with my trunk, not sure if you can apply the same tactic but it can't hurt. I pulled on the release knob as far as I could and locked a vice grip on the cable, then I began pushing on the lid and rocking it gently from side to side, pushing on the lid and also lifting from each corner.

I guess I got lucky and mine eventually popped loose, but be gentle and exercise patience while working the lid.

Good luck I hope it works for you,
    Mike
