I find that the best holes in my fingertips come from the use of stainless lock wire from Aircraft Spruce in 0.020"

I've measured quite a few pieces of OEM wire an I use 0.023" dia, black, annealed, oil-finished wire for restorations. But for the bulk of my work I use Type 302 stainless safety wire at 0.025" dia.

Paul,
Thanks for your input. I measured and after trying to take out the kinks, I came up with 0.021 for the wire on it now. Most likely 0.020.
They've been apart before, just not in the last few decades.
Some of the wires are pulling the bolt the wrong way. Although none were loose.
Can you show us the correct way to tie the bolts?

OEM wire installation was not per typical aircraft installation procedure in that the wire should tighten as the bolt loosens. The wire in the photo looks pretty much per OEM installation with the loop going through the hole in the body first, a couple of twists and then through the hole in the fastener's head.
I just re-measured some wire and also saw 0.020" dia.
