    Bearing question swb 1967

    Hi

I`m starting on my brembo upgrade today, and just took my hub off the spindle. There were no spacer fitted on the spindle to support the inner bearing? the car have been driving perfect, no noise from the bearing or anything. how is it possible to go without the spacer, it must have some kind
    of function?

when i measure the inner bearing and the spindle, it is a very thight fit, so the spacer must be some kind of "stopper" so the inner bearing don't travel so much aksialt?

The spacer have part nr 901.341.661.00 http://www.stoddard.com/901-341-661-00.html

I think i have to buy some?

You don't have to buy anything. Your spindles are fine. The "inner bearing spacer" is on your spindle. It, actually only provides a surface for the seal to ride on and has nothing to do with the bearing.

Lars, as Jim says, it's on there-- you would certainly notice if it were missing as the wheel would saw the strut in half!

It is NOT easy to get off and there is a thin o-ring behind it. If yours not leaking. . . leave it alone. . . (I am not able to leave things alone which is why I have this photo)
