    1970 Daytona 24

    There is a really terrific article in SCD this week by Louis Galanos about the 1970 race with some really nice unpublished photos.

    Who remembers this dune buggy that tried to qualify? It was finally withdrawn after colliding with Jo Siffert in the 917 T car by the entrant, a Porsche-VW dealership owner who didn't want to upset the factory.

    I was thinking the same thing. All that talk of micro-mini skirts, go-go boots, and goosebumps - and no photos!
