Thanks Marek. I think I'm pretty consistent on the bump rule, but PM me any you think I've missed.

I think the closing of a post after 5 bumps is silly.
It sometimes just takes a while to find the right buyer for certain parts.
Most people only look 2 to 3 pages on the for sale section and setting up a new post with all the cumbersome picture uploads takes a lot of time. I've taken the local route now for many parts because of this.
Saves me time in setting up and saves a lot of time in extra carefull packaging up and saves money in local shipping.
Its a pitty for the availability of parts in the vommunity I think.....

Sorry you feel that way. Others have requested a reduction in the bump rule. Guess you can't please everyone 100% of the time...

I guess most of the issues with bumping would go away if there would be a separate section with posts of people produsing parts that are available all the time. That saves them a lot of bumping their long running parts treads. If all posts of products sold would be moved to a sold section, the for sale section would be kept a lot condenser. Saves a lot of bumps for everyone.

There is a better way to move a thread. Create a post with additional information about the item. As opposed to just using the forum to sell stuff you participate as a fellow enthusiast and add to the body of knowledge here. It's pretty much impossible to get too detailed here.

There has been some abuse or shift in the activity of this for sale form over the last 2 years. I think there have been too many usual suspects here and there that put something up for sale that is way out of market reality and then they bump over and over. Ridiculous price, horrible pictures/description, some guys are just jerks over time, and stale adds on parts no one seems to want are all deserved of a locked thread.

But also lets not be a bloated cooperation with strict one size fits all rules where 1 person ruins it for the rest of us. Sometimes I think a little leeway could be given to some threads. Oh the lawyers are going to argue with that statement.

John is right too - share some information on your post. Put great pictures up. Details details.
