    911 1972 oil tank (oil flap) value

    Hi guys , thinking on selling my good condition 72 oil tank ( oil flap) does anyone know the current value of this part.

    John,

    In the recent past (maybe 2 years ago) I have been able to buy a good 72 tank for $3-400. Right now there is a new repro tank out that may have changed the used market a bit; The pricing on that looks to be about $650 and $60 shipping from Europe. Where previous to that the only other option was direct from Porsche at $1100.

    If you are looking for top dollar, I have seen that occasionally folks will send their tanks out for pressure testing/certification to FAA approved shops.
