    1969 Trans Am - 911s

Some really good 911 footage in a vid that is most pony car racing. It's about 5 minutes long. It's actually a mashup of a few years.

    Looks like fun!

My lovely wife bought me the book "Trans Am - The Pony Car Wars 1966-1972" for Christmas. OOP now, but worth tracking down.

What's really interesting it that the http://www.gotransam.comTrans Am series has been brought back and it's doing great. They ran with the HSR folks over at Daytona last month. They usually run as a support race. These are modern cars and not vintage. They're providing a great show though.

Here's one of the old Trans Am 911s.

If only it was on the west coast too or at least on TV again.
This spring at Sebring, I could run my 1988 Historic Trans Am race car with SVRA.
Then a couple days later race my newer 1992 Pancho Weaver car with the current Trans Am group.
But its too long a tow with 2 cars from San Diego to Sebring.

I buddy that races both a 60s TA race car and a newer 80s TA car mentioned how difficult it was to switch between the 2 cars on the same day.
The 60s cars and tires slide a lot.
He said if he turned in with his 80s TA car at the same place he does with his older car he would end up a car width on the inside of the apex berm.

Ditto on the Trans-Am book. Another I enjoyed was the Can-Am book by Pete Lyons, 917-30 my dream Porsche.
