Opinion request - which radio for a 1977 ROW Carrera 3.0 ?

So, my C3 was delivered new without a radio but with option 441 (speakers in doors,electric antenna) as the first owner wanted something which was not available in the option catalog. During the years, further radios were installed and I'd like to go back to something more period correct and re-activate the Hirschmann antenna. I have a Becker Mexico from that era but I'm not so convinced ... what would you suggest?

I've just put a blaupunkt London in my C3 - I think it suits it perfectly.

It's not totally fastened down in that pic.

Not sure. It arrived in a 73 I bought a few years back and looked too modern in that. Looks period correct to me in the C3.

Indeed, that I know but ... I imagine that if the original owner wanted a Bamberg he'd have ordered that ... he asked for the cables, speakers and antenna but chose for some aftermarket radio instead ... that's why I was wandering what other options there might have been in 1977

Was Alpine a big player in the late 70's?

Maybe check out what the European tuners were fitting about that time? Ruf, Gemballa, DP etc etc
