Thread: Early 928 sports purpose?

  1. #1

    Early 928 sports purpose?

So, has anyone seen any early 928's modded in the sports purpose, rgruppe etc style. Period mods, cool interiors etc. I think they are handsome cars in their pre spoiler etc days.

I can't be the only one. Would love to see what pics people have stored away.
    Cheers, Ryan

If everyone is zigging, you should zag...

A 968 would of course be the more sensible approach.

Do you mean something like this project?

or a car modified for real competition?

Probably more like a street going version of a period competition car, which is kind of what the 911 sports purposes parts represent.

You're not! I haven't seen any except in my imagination. I've always thought the early spoiler-less 928s are beautiful, though I have to admit I've tried and failed to love the Pasha interior. I would make mine a 'sleeper' on 15" phone dials and a funky period 928 shade like Olive Green.

Yep, 15" phone dials with chunky 215/60 tyres are a must...

Just picked up a 1984 928 with 40K miles. First ever car with an automatic, I love it. Great cruiser GT. All stock time capsule, now is the time to buy them.

And then You could adopt the livery of the 928 drove at le Mans in the early 80's by Raymond Boutinaud.

Well, you have some choice indeed:

But a regular 928 in good condition is a nice car to run anyway.
