    2.7RS on 5R's?.....

I recently acquired an early 1973 2.4E engine, number 6230582, and was surprised to see it had 5R/7R cases as I thought all 73 cars went on to 7R's. Obviously just an early model year run out.

It's made me wonder.....does anyone know if any of the first 500 series 2.7RS's had 5R/7R cases?

    Just curious

    Cheers'

Not all RS's have 7R's. Some of the very last few don't.
But then, not all RS's have magnesium cases........

Interesting Gordon, my December 72 built 2.4E is 7R/7R so this looks about the time the factory ran out of the old 5R cases.

    Thanks for the replies.
