4 Deep Six Rims dated 12/70

These are 4 date matching deep six rims that came off a family friends near brand new 1971 911S. The owner purchased the car new and within less than 6 months flared the fenders and replaced these rims using ones with a much wider stance.

These rims all are date stamped 12/70 which reflects the story of Benny's car being a model year 1971. A few years ago I sold an all original set of sport seats that also came out of this same car.

One of the rims seems to be missing the 0 stamp as it shows 12 7. I will argue that this particular rim is in fact a matching 12/70 production rim and the person at the factory forgot to make the final stamp. Please reference the pictures.

They have been stored inside since 1971 and have not been touched up in any way. I considered putting these on my 1970 911T because I feel they are marginally nicer in that they have more of an original cloudy silver anodized look. The ones one my 1970 have been highly polished and are more shiny in finish.

The reason I didn't do the swap is because the ones on my 1970 are original to the car and all have date stampings of 5/70 which match the car's production date.

One of the rims has an original Michelin tire which is not part of the sale as it will make shipping very difficult and more costly.

The overall condition of the rims are very good. All have cosmetic flaws which you can see. The are some abrasions and some areas which show water staining. The black semi gloss finish is clearly original on all not ever being touched up. I am happy to discuss the condition each rim over the phone with a prospective buyer in order to best represent their condition.

If you want perfection then you would have them restored however for a driver I would proudly use them as is. They clearly have original patina that is hard to find. It's also cool that there is some providence in the story of their origin.

I would prefer to keep them for the future but my gorgeous gal is getting sick of seeing them stored in and around our living room. I'd love to see them find their way to a production date 12/70 911 that needs them.
