WTB: Rear Parcel Shelf Hooks or Whole Targa Shelf

Looking for two parcel shelf (tray) hooks from the back of the shelf that slide into the sheet metal to hold the shelf in place above the rear seats. See photo circled in red.

Previous owner yanked the rear parcel shelf (tray) in my '71 Targa and tore out the bottom three hooks that slide into the sheet metal. One is still there, but two are missing.

Interested in buying just a few hooks (I believe all four are the same), surface rust and rivets still attached are OK, or a complete, excellent condition black, targa shelf.

The shelf in the photo is for a coupe; a targa shelf will have a 4th hook where the empty red circle is and also have a hard plastic tray attached to the cardboard shelf with 5 pins and speed nuts (green outline).

    Thanks,

Hi, we make brand new ones and will grab some pics for you. I really need to update my web site with all the bits we now make.

Please send me an email alan@canfordclassics.co.uk and I will sort some out for you.

Your panel only has 2 hooks. The 2 hooks that you assume are missing were never there. Look again at your panel. You will see 2 holes where you think the hooks go. Those holes are for screws, not hooks.

Thanks. Hmmm, that is possible -- and good news. IIRC, the board has three holes on each side where the hooks would have been riveted and it looks as if they were torn out (I'm going to look again, and closer). The car's metal also has three 'U' tabs (one on each side and one in the middle), so I took it for granted they were for the hooks.

The panel had two chrome finishing screws screwed into where the hooks would be (and each 'U' tab had a hole drilled in the middle for the screw). I also assumed the PO drilled the holes and used screws since the hooks were missing. BTW, the panel in the photo isn't mine, I found it on the Internet.

This is the way your panel should and probably does look. Your description of your car is exactly the way it should be. What is that they say about assuming?

Thanks Jim! I guess I made an a_ _ out of me. But, I am grateful for the info and I'm certainly gonna' look at my board to see if it's got the single holes on the left and right vs. three -- which probably doesn't matter anyway. I could've sworn it had the three holes and a small, makeshift hole for the screw that looked like a non-factory drill bit hole vs. a factory punched hole like in your photo. Now I've just got to figure out how to secure the torn middle hook that is barely dangling from the board.

The screw holes actually look like they were punched in the panel by my 13 month old grandson

Yikes! That might be why I 'assumed' they weren't 'Porsche authorized.' With the 200-yard rule, your first photo looked like clean punches. Thanks a million for the info and photos.
