FS: Dash Pad - Restored, Like New

Very nice dash pad in excellent restored condition. I don't know who did the work or exactly what year(s) this would go to, as it came with a project car I bought. $850 plus shipping costs to anywhere.

With some friendly guidance and a little more research, it appears this a '74-'76 dash.

There's no such thing as a 74-76 dash. Starting with the LWB cars, dashes went 69, then 70-75, then 76 which I think was a one-year-only dash.

What leads you to believe it's restored as opposed to just well-preserved?

I have a similar dash in my '73 and I've been told by folks more knowledgeable than I that its a factory replacement dash that was available for one year in the late 70's.

Nope. It's most definitely a '76 dash. Could be used as a replacement, of course.

The replacement dashes from the 70's for the LWB cars had an integrated speaker grill. Like this:

Actually there was a period when replacement dashes for early 911 cars had no speaker holes.

That was before they released the ones with the holes and no grille I believe. Happy to be corrected however.

I have had 2 of those in cars I have owned.

Circa '88 the dash on my '73 911 was replaced with a genuine Porsche dash, it also had speaker holes but no grill.

I believe Clyde is correct. The above dash has the allowance for the center vent which tells me it was made using the '77-'85 mold.

Kind of a transgender unicorn as it was never offered as original equipment.

But it is in beautiful, original condition.
