    68S sport seat value.

I have had this 68 sport seat recovered, but have decided to part with it. What is the going rate for a refurbished seat with headrest. I don't have the correct SWB tilting base though.

Seat is covered in correct period vinyl and the very nice pepita sold by " visualFX" on this board.

    Thanks in advance.

I hate to make a feedback but IMHO for 1968 and for vinyl, it usually had perforated bolsters.
There was an ongoing discussion when in leather, it might was plain leather bolsters…but if vinyl/leatherette and except with 72/73 2.4l's, it came always with perforated vinyl bolsters only.

I was happy to get a seat in need of restauration (torn side bolster) for Euro 1900,- and had a hard time winning it on the bay.

So a usable seat, even with incorrect vinyl, will most likely be more expensive. Remember, these seats are very rare but have a smaller market as they are only correct for MY68.

    Hi Dave.

A pair is worth more than the sum of two singles if that makes sense... I paid about $4000 for a pair of cores (sourced separately) requiring full restoration and only one set of tilt/sliders. Fully restored by a pro with the same fabric from Garry and perforated vinyl bolsters, I imagine my seats should be worth around $8k on a pair of correct tilt/sliders.

The sliders and to a lesser extent, the tilt bracket are really hard to find separately. Eric Lindner (Soterik) is reproducing both with the tilt brackets for L and R side already available; but I understand the slider components are still a little while off. But like everything Eric does, you know they're going to be perfect.

I reckon your seat is a perfect 'driver side' companion to a refinished comfort seat (which was a common werks factory combo available in '68), or as a 'passenger side' to a factory fibreglass race seat (also a factory option). Nice thing about the 68 seats is that they were not side specific, only the bracket was. A stab at pricing your seat from me would be $2,500 without a bracket.
