Option group "A61" on sports purpose 71 E

    Hey folks,

Does anyone of you know what the "option group A61" included?
It is stated on the COA of a 71 911 E that also was delivered with roll bar.
The car was raced in period.
See attached excerpt of the COA.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Greetings

    Chris

A61 is probably found in the SportsPurpose manuel.
I have a complete one (editions 69-73) but currently on loan at my mechanic.

Either that or it is another infamous COA misstatements from Porsche. And considering some of the other options listed supposedly for a 71, I would entertain the fact that it is an error. Ie steel engine cover instead of plastic?? On a 71? Or Matt black trim instead of chrome?? Or possibly even body colour headlight rings. In a later car yes but I don't think I have ever seen a 71 with that sort of finish.

Ill check and agree, could be a mistake on the COA, including a code for later SC'.
There is a slight chance A61 could be Ausstattung 61 ie Equipment No.61

With so many "M" codes, it's always amazing that a code comes up that no info online exists...

@ all: Thanks for the info!

@ Karim: Do you know what Ausstattung 61 stands for?

I know a 71 S with M471 which had the matt black trim from new.

Hi , I checked the "Information regarding Porsche vehicules used for sports purposes" (Edition 11/68 until May 1971) and so far no infos on a A61.

Quite possible its a mistake on the CoA. The only source would be now the factory kardex. Opposite to many infos on this board that Kardex are found until 69 they did continue in a similar manner, just much harder to get. Just saw several in flesh.

Btw, I might know this/your car, its chassisnumber ending with 733 ?
Such a car was fs in Europe a while ago and back then similar infos about A61 were (wrongly?) stated.
