MSD vs Parts Klassik CDI refurb

Looking to upgrade my CDI box in my 1969 911T and have been looking at both an MSD unit and the Parts KlassiK digital refurb. I like the clean look of the original unit with modern guts. Opinions?

Here's a link to the Parts KlassiK unit:

I don't believe that the T model was equipped with Bosch CD. My targa had a Sydmur Fireball installed by the dealership at sometime after delivery, I was told.

So, IMO you can use whichever you prefer.

Check out Ashlock Tech, they also will refurbish the Bosch CDI. I have one of their units in my 1972 911.

also interested in this, have a 71T that I just want reliability out of and keep as much stock as possible (pretty much stock car. Are Is there more 'mods" required when going over to a MSD and is there any marked diff in performance installing that or will a refurb'd Bosch unit equal it.? Thx in advance

msd claims multi-spark, but it only does that up to 3000 rpm, so I'm unclear on whether it is a real benefit or not (twin-plugging is a REAL benefit for larger dia. cyls., higher CR & lower quality fuel)

msd has newer components & circuit design

I recently decided to make the change from the stock CDI to Kurt's digital box. It is no more expensive that having your CDI box refurbished/repaired/restored. I spoke to him about it and what would be required, specifically if I needed to change anything I currently had installed since that would cost more money again. He told me he has it set up so all you have to do is remove the old box and install the new one, and it will work with the existing stock wires, coil etc, just so long as they have the correct resistance etc. He offered to check mine for continuity, resistance, wear etc so that is what I did. I sent him my CDI box, coil, CDI wiring harness and the plug connectors.

Kurt was very helpful and I'm looking forward to getting everything back in place and seeing how everything works out. Probably a few weeks since we are into harvest here. Kurt ended up replacing two of the ends on the wiring harness since the wiring was somewhat frayed and getting a new set of plug wires. 5 of the 6 plug connectors I sent him (Beru) had some issue, too much resistance, not enough or none, or some other internal issue. This really surprised me as they are only 3 years old with not a lot of miles on them. I'm by no means an electrical guru so I really appreciated Kurt taking the time to make sure everything was compatible and to spec.
