    What Year is My Transmission?

    I bought a 911/01 5 speed transmission already prepped for a 914/6 conversion I'm doing.

    #740 4590 - What year is this from, I assume '70 or '71….??

    The numbers 740 indicate an optional-ratio '70 4-speed.
You might check to make sure the number is not 710 4590.

Blue Sky Motors has a very comprehensive list of 901 and 911 transmissions.
I visited site today related to the one I have.

From the factory Specifications book, for 1969-71 models.
There were some 770 serial numbers in 1970, but they didn't go up to -4590.

Can you post a photo of the numbers stamped in the case?
