I have one, it's a bit rough and would need some repairs.
Original not repro.
Not for sale
Don't have a picture right now.
But probably a 7/10 rating
What's it worth and any suggestions where I could send it to be fixed?

Bob, could you do a measurement for the distance to both sides of this opening? Are they the same or is one side 6mm to 8mm different ?
Restoration Design has these for $155. Many years ago some repros were $100 but had problems with mounting straight. But for us racers they were about 3 lbs lighter - right where you wanted a light part.
Have the bottom side flanges been re-welded?

Were these standard on all the S models?

I believe the aluminum panel was standard across the model range; T, E, and S. My '73E is aluminum.

top holes are symmetric.
all flanges with original spot welds.
top flange appropriate width.
back reinforcement plates glued not spot welded
original green primer under some old electrical tape.
my 72 E has steel, pretty certain that was standard excepting S, maybe different in 73.
pretty certain its original
is the RD as good as original?

The '72 S Targa I had did not have a aluminum panel or engine lid. Not sure why or if that was the way it came.

My 73S Targa has it, strange how these were allocated. Maybe if they had them they used them if not steel?

Rick, I had found your thread thus my comment re top flange width and glued reinforcement.
I'm certain it's original, but what's it worth?
If it's no better than the RD repop so be it.
If it's special, I'll keep it, fix it, paint it and mount it.
