    2.7 Carrera RS lightweight HEADLINER

    hallo guys,

    I just saw a first series 2.7 carrera RS M471.
    production late 72.

    the seller ensure me it is a fully original car but I noticed something "strange".

    The headliner is black but it is not hexagon pattern (or diamond pattern).
    It is square pattern or SWB pattern.

    This make me think the car has been restored for some reason in the past.

    I'm pretty sure it is not original because I have never seen an original LWB with square pattern but black headliner and RS M471 are not so common so I could be wrong...

    Any help?

    I found this style headliner in the car (but in black color).

    I always thought the right pattern for a 73 car is this.

    I think that Black headliner is fine for M471 and M491 cars.

    I can give you 50% of the answer.

    Diamond pattern IS RIGHT.
    I saw unrestored M471 RS's with diamond headliner, and I'm sure many of you can confirm.

    What we need to know is:
    cars with swb pattern have been produced too?

    It seems very difficult to me, but no way to be 100% sure.
