Would you trust these 911 Bosch Headlights Ebay parts?

Call me a luddite, call me an old timer. I've never used ebay.
However I have a 911 that has been in my family for many years that needs to be brought back.

I saw this listing on ebay..
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-911-...-/111584380257

These are a bit pricey, but they seem to be quite nice. My problem is trusting the whole buying something from a site like this..
Anyway - I've been a lurker for the past year or so..
If you have these parts and want to sell to me, I have way more confidence with someone 'in the community' than a website i've never used. I'll pay whatever for a nice set, but I have to have this next week no matter what.

Back to the point of the post, do you guys use ebay?

Yes, I and many others use Ebay, and for the most part it works out just fine. Make sure you read the whole advertisement, as you might be buying something that isn't correct for your car.

As well, I'd probably not advertise that: "I'll pay whatever for a nice set", because prices here are already at an all time high and you don't want to be the guy who forces them to go even higher. That said, I believe you can find a very nice set of headlights here for something south of what the guy on Ebay is asking. Good luck and welcome.

Defco- The eBay lights you are looking at are the H1 series. Great lights, but for about half the price there is an alternate light, the H4 series. Almost exactly the same in appearance but simpler design (one bulb verses 2) and the associated individual adjusting mechanisms. Check these out on eBay

I would stay away from the first one. It might be legit, but reading the ad, $1400 for one headlight, being shipped from Lebanon. Don't think you'll get it in a hurry.
The ad for a single H4 for $650 is also a little pricey. You can buy new from online retailers for less.

Seller is based in Quebec Canada but parts are in Lebanon... Something seems a little sketchy...

The first thing that you want to do is put on some uber expensive lights that may or may not be original?
Maybe we can help with some of the issues of bringing a car back...
Is there anything else that needs attention?
As far a E bay....As previous posts imply. Read the ad carefully....I would not buy from this person.

Defco, I'm very active on eBay both as a buyer and seller. The good thing about eBay as a buyer is that it is a very safe transaction (almost unfair for sellers). Paypal, which is the standard method of payment, will almost always (99% of the time) refund your money so long as you give a good reason. If the product doesn't arrive, arrives broken, isn't as described, etc. they'll refund your money.

As for the units you're looking for, you may want to reach out to John Audette here on the registry. I believe his handle is jaudette. He restores and sells both H1s and H4s

Yep. The H1 headlights appeared early in the 1968 model year as standard equipment on the Rest-of-World 911S (starting with 911S coupé 11800226 and 911S Targa 11850065). In 1969, all RoW 911s got H1 headlights. In the 1972 model year, shortly after the H4 quartz iodine bulb was introduced Porsche discontinued the H1 units and replaced them with H4 headlights.

Porsche H1 headlights are rare and expensive. I wouldn't recommend spending that much on headlights unless either they were original to your car (you didn't specify your car's year or model) or you really, really, really have to have H1 headlights.
