I recently acquired this tool kit in the Denver Colorado area and have had a good time researching everything and learning about the different tool kits and what they consist of.
I was only able to post 15 photos. I'm going to change one of the photos soon to show the oxidation on the Phillips screw driver. I have around 100 detailed pictures to send to any potential buyers. I can take detailed pictures of anything as well.
This forum has been very helpful especially the Tool Kit contents thread, I figured that this site would be the best place to list this kit for sale. I have had a few individuals contact me regarding the kit and have been told that the 4 smaller DFS wrenches are not original to the kit. From the research I've done in the tool contents thread it looks like the wrenches vary and it looks like the cast wrenches that are in the kit could very well be original. I know they are not as sought after as the machined face wrenches but I think I have the kit priced accordingly.
The black basket weave bag is in overall pretty good shape. It has a few blemishes as shown and the clasps have some rust that is also pictured. The inside of the bag the leather has some stains also pictured but it could possibly be cleaned up.
The wrench set is complete and the 17/19 wrench has machined faces as shown. The other 4 smaller wrenches have cast faces as pictured and stated above. There is some light surface rust on a few of the wrenches, I have not tried cleaning these at all so I'm sure some of the spots could be removed with a brass wire brush or something similar.
The slotted screw driver has a chip at the edge as shown, and the Phillips head screw driver has some pretty heavy oxidation on the entire metal portion of the driver.
The pliers are the rare raised edge cutting side with the chrome plated jaws. The pliers are in good shape overall. No surface rust or anything.
The 19mm lug wrench is also in great shape. The only sign of wear is at the one end of he wrench as shown.
The Klein 10mm Allen key is in pretty good shape. It does have a spot that is peeling as pictured but the head of the Allen is in great shape.
The original Porsche Phoenix fan belt included as shown is in good shape.
The rare original fuse pack is included as shown
The Klein 21mm spark plug wrench is in good shape overall as shown. It has one small spot of surface rust that I'm sure could be cleaned up. It also has the rubber insert intact.
The p208 generator tool is in overall pretty good shape as well. It has some wear as shown but nothing major at all.
The chrome vanadium 19/22 closed end wrench is in good shape and only has a few very tiny spots of surface rust that I'm sure could be easily cleaned.
I'm asking $1500 Shipped/insured inside the U.S. I'm open to serious offers. I have a standing offer from a reputable member that I felt was a bit to low but if don't receive a offer that I feel is fair I will end up selling it to him. I understand this kit is far from mint and the fact that the 4 smaller wrenches have a cast surface decreases the value. Along with the chipped and oxidized screw driver set.
I still feel like this is a great set and priced correctly so I figured I would actually list a for sale thread and see if this can help someone out.
