    steering damper

Where to buy a steering damper for a 1965 car? SM seems to have run out of them, Stoddard does not show anything.

I did a quick Google search for 901.347.501.00. Aase sales and DC Automotive each catalog one used damper for only US$ 450.

    Me too.

The rubber bushing in the "round end" of mine deteriorated so badly it fell off the mount. I managed to stick it back on with a big washer but it's not ideal. I think the old damper actually still damps a little.

I was never able to find a Repro and ended up using my original, which probably does nothing and is worn. But my car handles like its on rails so all good. I do recall that a Boge from a late 356 might be close.

Steering dampers appear all the time on Ebay. Right now only thing seems to be 356 but keep looking. Seem to pop up from time to time.

Unfortunately, a 356 steering damper has round bushings at both ends while a SWB 911 steering damper has a stud mount on one end.

Your correct! Now I remember. They looked really close except for that and the 911 price premium

dont think it is a big deal to modify the end...but i would not be happy with ...since the other end is slightly different also ...
